The Government of India has introduced many educational schemes beneficial for students and people looking to grow in their professions and acquire new skills. The aim of the government through these efforts is to motivate people to learn certain skills that can get them employment. Directions Hub bridges the gap between government and the seekers of these schemes.
Some of the efforts in the education field started by the government are given as follows:
1. Direct Admission of Students Living Abroad
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) started the program to help the students seeking for global technical education get the same in India itself. It was a huge relief mainly for those students who wanted admission in the Engineering programs. Since the inception of this idea in 2001, a big number of Indian, foreign and NRI students are offered admission in the undergraduate programs in educational institutions like NITs, IIIT’s, βand other important institutions within the country.
2. Saakshar Bharat Programme
Saakshar Bharat Programme formulated in 2009 was meant to create awareness of social disparities when it comes to literacy levels of male and female. Its prime objectives are given below:
- Acquire Equivalency to Formal Education System
- Impart numeracy to non-literates
- Impact functional literacy
- Imparting Relevant Skill Development Programme
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) works to implement similar programmes across areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Data Analytics. All this is being done to equip the youngsters with skills that shall rule the future, so they can make the most out of the employment opportunities. Another unique and striking scheme is the National Programme of Earthquake Engineering Education (NPEEE).
